I grew up with asthma on the South Side of Chicago, in the Ida B. Wells Homes. My mother was a nurse and a single parent. She was my first teacher - her hands on my chest, my breath slowed down, showing me that a tight body could loosen if you paid attention to it.

That's where the fascination started. Not in a classroom. In my own chest, at seven or eight, learning what it feels like when breathing is something you have to work at.

A body in pain is not broken. It's asking a question you don't yet know how to read. Limitation is information - the place where you can't move, the place that hurts, that's the address.

I typically experience first what others come to me for. I've been on that side of it. That's not a credential. It's the reason I do this.

I found my way into personal training at X Sport Fitness, eventually moving into management. I started clinical massage in 2016 and studied clinical massage at The Soma Institute in Chicago.

Today, I blend bodywork and functional movement. Anatomy Trains gives me the map; the territory is always specific to one body, one history, one set of goals. The work: find where the body is stuck, figure out why it's there, and walk it back through.

You don't get a protocol. You get Keri, who's been where your body is.
